  • What are blade terminals?
Plug-in connectors became widespread in the early 20th century, and their basic design has remained largely unchanged. They are used in applications such as industrial control panels, automotive wiring, and consumer electronics.  Capable of handling 15-30 amps, they are suitable for heaters, motors, and power supplies. They may be actively replaced before corrosion, spring tension loss, or thermal cycling.     Material Specifications: Terminals must possess specific properties, which are determined by the choice of material. According to the text in *Electrical Contacts: Principles and Applications*, edited by Paul Slade, these properties include  low conductivity, an appropriate spring constant, good structural strength, resistance to surface film growth, and low hardness to provide low constant resistance. Copper alloys retaining 75% or more copper are the most commonly used  materials for terminals. If a spring is included in the design, bronze is typically used. Plating on terminals can improve their performance and lifespan. Terminals can be plated with another precious metal (silver, gold, palladium, tin, etc.)  to improve resistance to film growth and maintain low contact resistance.     Material Specifications: Terminals must possess specific properties, which are determined by the choice of material. These terminals are commonly processed and assembled using advanced Crimping Machine solutions to ensure stable electrical connections and high production efficiency.   Pulley connectors, also known as insulated blade terminals, are used for quick and easy connection of wires to screws, terminals, or batteries. These simple devices offer tensile strength, thermal conductivity, and resistance to  impact and corrosion. They can be equipped with insulating housings, typically color-coded, or presented as bare conductive metal terminals.   These metal terminals are usually in the form of blades or double-pronged (open blade terminals), allowing them to slide under the screw head without completely unscrewing the screw. Modern production of these terminals  often relies on  Semi-Automatic Crimping Machine equipment to improve crimping accuracy, consistency, and manufacturing productivity.

  • What is an SPE cable?
SPE cable, or Single Pair Ethernet cable, is an industrial-grade cabling that uses only one pair of twisted wires to transmit a complete IEEE 802.3 Ethernet signal, instead of the two or four pairs commonly found in standard  Ethernet cables such as Cat5e or Cat6. It is a fast (10 Mb/s to 1 Gb/s), economical, compact, and lightweight cabling option (75% lighter than four-pair Ethernet), suitable for space-constrained areas such as IoT and edge  computing devices, building security and automation systems, robotics, sensors, and cameras. It is also used in automotive networks as an alternative to CAN bus or MOST.   The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) developed SPE in the 2010s to address the automotive industry's need for lightweight data transmission. The IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards committee standardized  this cable. The SPE Industry Partner Network is an alliance of companies such as Phoenix Contact, TE Connectivity, and HARTING, aiming to accelerate ecosystem development and standards unification.     Two main cable products support this standard. SPE data cables offer different stress ratings and use different sheath materials, and are also suitable for mobile applications such as cable chains and torsional stress. System  cables are equipped with SPE connectors for quick and error-free installation, offering a variety of cable and connector options to suit different application needs.   The cable classifications defined for SPE are the same as for Profinet:   Type A: Cables using solid conductors, suitable for permanent installations   Type B: Cables using stranded conductors, suitable for flexible applications or vibration environments   Type C: Stranded conductor wires for high-dynamic applications such as cable chains   Type R: Stranded conductor torsion test cables for robotic applications   Each cable type uses different sheath materials to suit specific applications. Type A and B cables typically use PVC shielding. Halogen-free, food-grade, oil-resistant, and chemical-resistant alternatives are available. Type C  cables are available in PUR, PVC, and Santoprene. Type R robotic cables are available in PUR and Santoprene.
